I’m excited (and a little nervous) to share my newest project with you: Do Not Disturb, a 10-track lo-fi album about needing space, feeling exhausted, and choosing solitude when the world gets too loud.

The Honest Truth

This album came from a real place. You know those days when everyone needs something from you, and you just want to lock yourself in a room and not talk to anyone? When you’re working hard, trying your best, but somehow still letting people down? When your head hurts, your heart hurts, and you just need everyone to leave you alone for five minutes?

Yeah. This album is that feeling.

What to Expect

Do Not Disturb is raw, vulnerable, and unapologetically sad. It’s lo-fi bedroom pop that sounds like 3 AM thoughts, rainy day windows, and the quiet relief of closing your door. Think Clairo meets Phoebe Bridgers – whispered vocals, minimal production, maximum honesty.

These songs aren’t about heartbreak or romance. They’re about burnout, boundaries, and the exhaustion that comes from trying to be everything to everyone while barely holding yourself together.

The Tracklist

  1. Four Walls – Finding peace in isolation
  2. Rainy Day Inside – When grey skies feel like permission to rest
  3. Don’t Take It Personal – Asking for space without guilt
  4. Background Noise – Feeling invisible in a room full of voices
  5. Autopilot – Going through the motions
  6. Numb – Emotional shutdown
  7. 3 AM Thoughts – The insomnia that comes with overthinking
  8. No Answers – When your head and heart both hurt
  9. Stop Putting Words In My Mouth – Fighting back against being misunderstood
  10. I’m Not Making Anyone Happy – Choosing solitude over constant disappointment

My Creative Process

As always, I’m transparent about my process. I wrote these lyrics in collaboration with my AI co-writer Claude (credited as Claude H. Becker in honor of my late father), and used Suno AI for the music production. These tools help me get the emotions out of my head and onto a track faster than traditional methods, but the feelings? Those are 100% mine.

Why This Album Matters

If you’ve ever felt like you’re not making anyone happy no matter how hard you try… if you’ve ever needed to disappear for a while just to breathe… if you’ve ever been so tired that going through the motions is the best you can do… this album is for you.

Sometimes the most important thing we can do is close the door, turn off our phones, and just exist without performance or expectation.

Do Not Disturb releases April 1, 2026

Thank you for listening, for understanding, and for giving me space to create something this honest.

With love and boundaries,
Melanie

P.S. If you’re going through it right now, I see you. And it’s okay to not be okay.

A Note About Mental Health & Getting Help

This album deals with heavy topics: burnout, depression, numbness, exhaustion, and the overwhelming need for space. While writing these songs was therapeutic for me, I want to be very clear: music is not a replacement for professional help.

If you’re struggling with depression, burnout, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, or mental health challenges, please reach out to someone who can actually help:

Crisis Resources:

  • 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline: Call or text 988 (available 24/7)
  • Crisis Text Line: Text HOME to 741741 (available 24/7)
  • SAMHSA National Helpline: 1-800-662-4357 (free, confidential, 24/7 treatment referral service)

Professional Support:

  • Talk to your doctor about mental health referrals
  • Consider therapy (many therapists offer sliding scale fees)
  • Look into employee assistance programs (EAP) if available through your work
  • Check out online therapy options like BetterHelp or Talkspace if in-person isn’t accessible

For Friends & Family: If someone you love is struggling, please don’t just tell them to “listen to music” or “stay positive.” Encourage them to seek professional help. Offer to help them find a therapist. Drive them to appointments if needed. Sometimes the kindest thing you can do is help someone access real support.

My Personal Message: I’m okay. I’m working through my exhaustion with support, boundaries, and rest. But if these songs resonate with you on a deep level – especially songs like “Numb,” “3 AM Thoughts,” or “No Answers” – please don’t suffer alone. You deserve real help, not just a sad playlist.

Music can be therapy. But it’s not the therapist.

Please take care of yourself. You’re worth it.
