I need to tell you about my son.
Because part of my story in 2026 โ and a very exciting part โ is that the Halloween album I’m releasing in October includes songs that HE wrote. My son. Who has inherited, apparently, the songwriting gene and then some.
I am not going to overshare because he’s my kid and his story is his to tell. But I will tell you that when he brought me these songs, I was floored. Not “aw how sweet, your kid wrote a song” floored. Legitimately impressed as a songwriter floored. The kid has instincts. He has ideas. He has a Halloween sensibility that is wonderfully, specifically his and it translates beautifully into music.
The Halloween album is one I’ve been passionate about from the beginning because let’s be honest: Halloween deserves better music than what it has. The holiday has incredible creative energy โ spooky, playful, eerie, funny, nostalgic โ and the original music landscape for it is surprisingly thin. My son and I are answering that call together.
October is going to be a really special moment. Not just for the music, but for what it represents โ a mother and son creative project, and the beginning of what I hope is a very long musical chapter for him.
Stay tuned. I’ll be talking more about this album as we get closer to fall.
