The Story Behind “This Is Living”

Not every song needs to be deep and meaningful. Sometimes a song just needs to capture pure, uncomplicated joy.

“This Is Living” is exactly that—a celebration of the simple pleasures that make life worth living. Dancing in the kitchen with your best friends. Road trips with the windows down and the moonroof open, music blasting so loud you can’t hear yourself think. Laughing until you’re crying. Living completely in the moment.

I wrote this song from real experiences. Those spontaneous road trips with my girlfriends where we sing at the top of our lungs and don’t care who’s watching. Those kitchen dance parties that erupt at random. Those moments when everything just feels RIGHT and you’re so present that time seems to stop.

We spend so much time chasing big goals and grand achievements that we forget to celebrate the small, perfect moments. This song is a reminder to notice them. To be present for them. To let yourself feel the full weight of simple joy.

The energy of this song is intentional—upbeat, carefree, infectious. Because that’s what joy feels like when you let yourself fully experience it. It’s not complicated. It’s not conditional. It just IS.

What I want people to feel: When you hear this song, I want you to remember the last time you felt completely, unselfconsciously happy. And then I want you to go create more of those moments.

Perfect for: Girls’ trips, celebration playlists, feel-good moments, anyone who needs a reminder to enjoy the ride
