Hey everyone. I haven’t done a podcast episode in over a month. The reason? Well I would record my episodes during my morning commute to work. And beginning on March 21st I believe I started working from home and therefore moving my commute and moving my time to record.
And now I have been forwarded for my job for up to 4 months and even though I do have more “time” I am constantly hanging out playing with and taking care of my two children which are three and a half and two years old.
When the pandemic began I wore an original song that I called appropriately Pandemic.
The song was released on my podcast at 4:30 on March 30th. Which is today 🙂 here’s a link please take a listen and enjoy. Let me know what you think. Also know that this is the really edited version that was produced through GarageBand. Well it’s probably overproduced but hey it was fun.
I just finished recording my most recent episode of The Melanie Grace show. and on this episode I started off wondering did anybody notice I didn’t post a podcast episode last week? Did anybody notice? Did you notice? Well just the mirror posing of that question took me to a very odd place where I then talk about how I feel that I am forgettable. So I invite you to head over to my YouTube channel and listen to the song that I wrote and releas ed a long long time ago called forgettable and this song is one that I wrote and I really meant.
Then I talk about not the way I want to start a Monday. Being a mother of two can be extremely exhausting and tiresome. Night terrors are horrifying for everyone involved. Kids sleeping in my bed and contorting my neck is very irritating. and eating breakfast never should be quite the challenge that it is on Monday mornings at 6:00 a.m.
Oh and I finished my quilt top for my scrappy hearts quilt along. my only thing is I can’t find the borders that I had previously cut and put in my project bag. now I have to come up with a creative solution for borders. I guess I could do a piece border but I really don’t want to do that. Or maybe I just scrapped the borders. Or maybe I just cut up a different fat quarter and make quarters of those I don’t know.
And that about wrapped it up! I hope you enjoyed the listen and if you haven’t you can catch it here.
Alo I want you to let you know that I’m partnering up with Sol Janeiro body products and man oh man I absolutely love their shower gel and their bum bum cream check out their most recent promotion on what you can get for hair care and their both love and cream. On today’s episode of The Melanie Grace Show I talk about the week of Thanksgiving and how my sons preschool is teaching the class about thankfulness in preparation for the holiday. I started talking with my son on the way to school helping him learn more about thankfulness and starting off with saying, “I’m thankful for today….” and it grew into an idea – a challenge for YOU!
Start with what you have right now – I’m Grateful for this chair, couch cushions, blanket on you, these headphones or ear-pods…. And let the grow into more gratefulness about other things. Say them OUT LOUD! Verbal Gratefulness. Thank you for the Sun, thank for the Snow, thank you for life. Begin speaking into the universe what you’re thankful for.
Download a voice recorder App, or use the video feature on your phone and in a quite, private place and begin to speak out your Verbal Gratefulness. Let your words take you down a rabbit trail. I want you to let me know where you started – did you start with something simple, “I’m grateful for the chair I’m sitting in, I’m grateful it swivels…” and what “Ah-Ha” moment did you land on? for me it was, “I’m grateful I finally get to spend all Thanksgiving Day with my family after 10 years of splitting up the day.” Which ultimately led me to, “I’m grateful my husband and I came this decision without an argument.”
Now start writing your gratefulness journal if you want. You’re in a position for you to really feel the thankfulness inside your soul.
I want to know! head over to Instagram and Tag me @themelaniegrace with your #VerbalGratefulness #GratefulnessChallenge and let me know where you started and where you landed and what this challenge meant to you!
Episode 4 of y podcast, I talk about self care… Like the legit real deal self care I do sets me up for a better day than it would be without it.
I view stupid self care as something my present self does my future self. No one knows me better than myself so I have know my own needs so I can take CARE of MYSELF. I end my days with flossing and brushing my teeth (with Pronamel) then I wash the make up of my face and I’m loving using the Make Up Eraser – SO SOFT on my face! I use some facial toner then put on some face lotion. I take out and toss out my daily contacts, put my glasses on, take my anti-depressant pill and hit the hay.
When I start the day, I love to put a few drops of AWAKE essential oils from Grove Collaborative.
I wake up to a soft alarm at 5am and hop right in the shower. I don’t mention this in the podcast, but… I should have! I love to drop in a few drops of essential oils right when I’m about to get in the hot water. I’ve been using the blend Awake from Grove Collaborative and I LOVE it! It makes me feel calm and at ease – highly recommend!!!! Once I’m in the shower I use a wonderfully delicious body wash that I got in one of my FabFitFun boxes – it smells so good and makes my skin feel amazing. Oh – and I use a $1 loofa!!!
That’s right! I’ve officially renamed my new Podcast and I know it’s so generic but also so unique! haha!
The Melanie Grace Show will be my Podcast where I talk all things creative, crafty, artistic, quilts and entrepreneurship. I have long had a dream of running and owning my own business, I want to be my own boss.
