Two Albums, One Heart: Quilt Anthems and Bring Us Home

Abstract painting with blue streams and golden brown rocky textures

Some weeks I sit back and think about the sheer range of what’s living in my creative world right now, and it honestly makes me laugh a little.

On one hand: Quilt Anthems. Cozy, folk-pop, warm, about fabric and patience and the quiet joy of making something with your hands.

On the other hand: Bring Us Home. A full biblical concept album/musical set during the Babylonian exile: sweeping, emotional, ancient Hebrew woven through the lyrics, harps and orchestral builds, a story about longing for a home you’ve never seen.

Two projects that could not sound more different. And yet they come from the exact same place in me.

Both are about belonging. Quilt Anthems is about the quilts that hold our stories and keep the people we love warm: belonging expressed through the things we make and give. Bring Us Home is about an entire people aching for a homeland, carrying hope through generations until it’s finally realized: belonging on the largest possible scale.

Small and intimate. Epic and historical. Same heartbeat underneath.

I think that’s what I love most about being a songwriter who doesn’t stay in one lane. The themes that matter to me show up everywhere: in a song about thread, in a song about exile, in a song about a 5am morning. Once you know what you actually care about, it turns out it’s in everything you make.

More on both of these in the coming days. There is SO much to share.
