Track 5: “BBQ State of Mind” – Summer Gathering Meets Dance Floor

If “Red White and Pool” got you moving, “BBQ State of Mind” keeps that energy going! This EDM track transforms the classic American summer BBQ into a full-on dance party celebration.

    The Party Continues

I intentionally placed these two EDM tracks back-to-back because that’s exactly how summer feels – one celebration rolling into the next. Fourth of July leads into more pool parties, more gatherings, more reasons to get together with the people you love. “BBQ State of Mind” captures that momentum.

    All the BBQ Goodness

This song is PACKED with details: burgers, hot dogs, carne asada, baked potatoes, chips (and more chips!), guacamole, salsa, coolers full of ice-cold beer, pitchers of sweet tea and lemonade. If you’ve ever been to a proper summer BBQ, you’ll recognize every single reference.

But it’s not just about the food – it’s about the hospitality, the community, the “come over to our place or we’ll go to yours” energy that makes summer gatherings so special.

    EDM BBQ? Yes, Really.

You might think “wait, BBQ music is supposed to be country or laid-back!” And you’re not wrong – but hear me out. Modern summer BBQs aren’t just about sitting around; they’re about ENERGY. Kids running around, music blasting, people laughing, games happening, the whole vibe is electric and alive.

The EDM production gives “BBQ State of Mind” that same electric energy. It’s the soundtrack to the party, not the sit-down meal. It’s what’s playing when your uncle is dominating at cornhole, your cousin is doing cannonballs in the pool, and everyone’s having the time of their lives.

    The Summer Heat Factor

One of my favorite lines is about eating by the pool in 90-degree weather, “even when it’s 105.” Because that’s real summer in California (and most of America)! We don’t let a little heat stop the party. We set up umbrellas, we jump in the pool to cool off, and we keep the celebration going.

    Building Community

At its heart, “BBQ State of Mind” is about community. It’s about neighbors becoming friends, friends becoming family, and creating those memories that last long after summer ends. The chorus emphasizes this: “I’m in a BBQ state of mind / Good food, good friends, good times.”

    Perfect For…

    • Actual BBQ parties (set this playlist on repeat!)
    • Pool parties that need energy
    • Outdoor summer celebrations
    • Pre-gaming before summer festivals
    • Workout music with a summer vibe
    • Any gathering where you want people dancing

This song makes me grateful for every summer BBQ I’ve ever been to, and excited for all the ones still to come. There’s something sacred about gathering around food, in the sunshine, with people you care about.

  • Track 4: “Red White and Pool” – The Ultimate Fourth of July Anthem

Track 4: “Red White and Pool” – The Ultimate Fourth of July Anthem

Get ready to MOVE because “Red White and Pool” is where this album kicks into high gear! This high-tempo EDM banger is my celebration of America’s birthday, poolside parties, and everything that makes Independence Day the best summer holiday.

    Party Mode: ACTIVATED

After three more laid-back tracks, “Red White and Pool” explodes onto the scene with pulsing beats, driving bass, and an energy that demands you get up and dance. This is the party track. This is the song blasting from speakers at every Fourth of July BBQ, pool party, and backyard bash across America in summer 2026.

    The Perfect Title

Can we talk about how perfect this title is? RED WHITE AND POOL. It’s a play on the flag colors, yes, but it’s also literally what we’re doing – celebrating America at a pool party! The title makes you smile before you even hear the song, and that’s exactly the vibe I wanted.

    What It’s Really About

“Red White and Pool” is my love letter to Fourth of July traditions: the parade in the morning, heading to mom’s house, the pool parties, the BBQ, the sparklers at sunset, fireworks lighting up the night. It’s about being surrounded by family and friends, celebrating freedom, and making memories.

The lyrics paint the picture: “Woke up to a paid vacation day / Put on my red, white, and blue array / Grabbed my chair for the parade downtown / Kids waving flags as the marching band comes around.”

    EDM Energy for America

I made the bold choice to turn this into a high-tempo EDM track because Fourth of July is ENERGY. It’s excitement. It’s celebration. It’s loud and proud and unapologetically American. The EDM production gives it that festival-anthem quality – imagine this dropping at a rooftop party as the sun sets and the first fireworks start.

    2026: A Special Year

We’re celebrating America’s 250th birthday in 2026! That’s a quarter of a millennium of freedom, democracy, and the pursuit of happiness. “Red White and Pool” honors that milestone while keeping the party vibes front and center.

    When To Play It

    • Fourth of July parties (obviously!)
    • Memorial Day and Labor Day celebrations
    • Pool parties any time of summer
    • Pre-gaming before fireworks
    • Workout playlists (that BPM will MOVE you)
    • Any time you need high-energy patriotic vibes

This song is designed to make you proud to be American while also making you want to dance. It’s celebratory, it’s fun, and it’s unapologetically enthusiastic about this country we call home.

What are your Fourth of July traditions? Pool party? BBQ? Beach day? Parade? Drop a comment and tell me how you celebrate!

  • Track 3: “Hot Summer” – When the Heat Meets Desire

Track 3: “Hot Summer” – When the Heat Meets Desire

After the chill, floating vibes of “Cold Drink, Hot Sun,” “Hot Summer” kicks the temperature (and the tension) way up! This is track 3 on the album, and it’s where summer shifts from relaxation to sultry romance – a playful track that’s half complaint about oppressive heat and half flirtation with someone who makes it all worthwhile.

    The Energy Shift

The album opens with upbeat summer optimism, then floats into chill pool vibes. But track 3? That’s where the heat hits – literally and figuratively. “Hot Summer” acknowledges the reality of triple-digit temperatures while introducing that spark of attraction that makes the discomfort worth it.

    Triple Digit Reality

Let’s be real: summer isn’t always sunshine and beach days. Sometimes it’s 99 degrees. Sometimes it’s 105. Sometimes your ice melts before you can drink it, your plants look sad and wilted, the grass turns crispy, and all you can do is hide inside with the AC cranked.

“Hot Summer” captures that reality. The oppressive, inescapable heat that makes you wonder why you live somewhere with triple-digit temperatures.

    But Then… You

Here’s where the song gets fun: halfway through complaining about the miserable heat, the perspective shifts. “But looking at you, baby, I don’t even care.”

Because yes, it’s hot. Yes, everything’s melting. Yes, the pavement is shimmering and even the birds are hiding. But when you’re with someone who makes your heart race? The external heat is nothing compared to what you’re feeling inside.

    The Playful Flirtation

The bridge is where the flirtation really kicks in:

“Triple digits on the thermometer / But you’re hotter than this summer, that’s for sure / My ice cream melted walking from the car / But baby, you’re the real heat by far.”

It’s cheeky. It’s playful. It’s the kind of thing you’d say to someone on a brutally hot day when they somehow still look amazing and you’re both suffering but laughing about it together.

    The Sultry Sound

Musically, “Hot Summer” is slow-burning acoustic pop with a sultry feel. Languid guitar, dragging drums, warm bass – everything moves like you’re walking through thick, hot air. But there’s romantic tension woven through it. The vocals balance heat exhaustion with desire, complaints with flirtation.

It’s not an upbeat summer anthem. It’s not a sad ballad. It’s somewhere in between – acknowledging the discomfort while finding something beautiful (or should I say, hot?) in it.

    Why This Placement Works

After two tracks that establish the carefree summer vibe, “Hot Summer” introduces heat and desire into the equation. It bridges the gap between the album’s laid-back opening and the romantic slow-burn of “Summertime Love” that follows.

It’s perfectly positioned – early enough to set the romantic tone for the rest of the album, but after we’ve established the summer setting. You’ve eased into the pool, you’ve relaxed with your cold drink… and now you notice someone who makes your heart race as fast as the temperature is climbing.

    California Heat Reality

Living in California, we know what real heat feels like. This isn’t humid Florida heat or Arizona desert heat – this is Southern California valley heat where it hits triple digits and everything just… stops. You adapt. You survive. And if you’re lucky, you find someone who makes the heat bearable – or better yet, someone who adds to it in the best way.

    When To Play It

    • Hot summer evenings with someone special
    • Road trips through the desert
    • Pool parties when the temperature is ridiculous
    • Getting ready for a summer date
    • Any moment when you’re suffering in the heat but grateful for good company
    • Flirty summer playlists

This song is for everyone who’s ever complained about the heat while secretly enjoying the excuse to stay close to someone cool. It’s for everyone who’s looked at someone on a 105-degree day and thought “you’re worth sweating for.” And it sets the romantic tone perfectly for the rest of the album journey ahead.

What’s the hottest summer day you’ve ever experienced? And who would you want to spend it with? Drop a comment!

  • “Cold Drink, Hot Sun” – Track 2: The Ultimate Floating Anthem

“Cold Drink, Hot Sun” – Track 2: The Ultimate Floating Anthem

If “Summer State of Mind” is about getting into the summer vibe, “Cold Drink, Hot Sun” is about staying there – literally. This is the song for those perfect lazy pool days when you’re floating on your back, drink in hand, and the world just… stops.

    Pure Relaxation

I wrote this song thinking about those moments when you’re so relaxed you forget what day it is. You know that feeling? When you’re drifting in the pool, ice melting in your drink, radio playing softly, and you genuinely can’t remember if it’s Saturday or Sunday – and you don’t care?

That’s “Cold Drink, Hot Sun.” It’s the soundtrack to doing absolutely nothing, and doing it beautifully.

    The Details That Matter

The lyrics are all about those small, perfect details: “Floating on my back, not a cloud in the sky / Got my drink in one hand, let the world pass by.” I wanted to capture the sensory experience – the feeling of water like glass, toes breaking the surface, chlorine and coconut, the way time seems to slow down when you’re completely present.

There’s something about floating in a pool with a cold drink on a hot day that’s just… peak summer. It’s simple, it’s accessible, and it’s absolutely perfect.

    The Sound

“Cold Drink, Hot Sun” is intentionally mellow – gentle fingerpicked guitar, soft brushed drums, warm bass, and vocals that feel like they’re floating right along with you. This isn’t a party anthem; it’s a moment of peace. It’s the sonic equivalent of a deep breath and a long exhale.

    Where It Fits

After the upbeat opener, I wanted track 2 to bring the energy down just a little, to let you settle into the album. “Cold Drink, Hot Sun” does that perfectly. It’s still positive and summery, but it’s contemplative. Chill. Unhurried.

    The Perfect Song For…

    • Actually floating in a pool (duh!)
    • Lazy Sunday afternoons
    • Hammock time with a good book
    • Background music for outdoor dining
    • Any moment when you need to slow down and breathe

This song is a reminder that summer isn’t always about go-go-go. Sometimes the best summer moments are the quiet ones. The ones where you’re doing “nothing” but somehow experiencing everything.

Have you ever had one of those perfect floating-in-the-pool moments? Where were you? What were you drinking? Tell me in the comments! And if you haven’t experienced it yet – this song is your invitation. Go float. Bring a cold drink. Let the world pass by for a while.
