Hey everyone!

It’s March 17th – St. Patrick’s Day – and I am SO ready to celebrate! ๐Ÿ€

If you’ve been following my “March Winds” album journey, you know that my Irish heritage runs DEEP through this entire project. Thirty-three percent of my DNA might not sound like a lot, but it feels like so much more. It’s in my bones. It’s in my stories. It’s in the way I see the world.

Why Today Matters to Me

You know what’s wild? My son’s due date was TODAY. March 17th. St. Patrick’s Day. I had these huge plans – imagined his 21st birthday would be the ultimate Irish celebration, surrounded by shamrocks and green everything.

But he had his own timeline (as babies do), and he decided to make his entrance on March 18th instead. And honestly? It’s perfect. He gets his OWN day, not shared with a global holiday.

I tell that whole story in “March Eighteenth” – one of the most personal songs on the album.

My Irish Songs

If you’re celebrating today and want some Irish-flavored music that’s NOT “Danny Boy” for the millionth time, I’ve got you covered:

๐Ÿ€ “Wearing Green” – Pure joy and celebration. This is your anthem for today. Wear that green with PRIDE.

๐Ÿ€ “Irish Kitchen” – All about the comfort foods that define Irish home cooking. Shepherd’s pie, Irish stew, soda bread with salted Kerrygold butter. (Yes, I’m making you hungry.)

๐Ÿ€ “I Guess That’s Where I Get It From” – Comedy gold about blaming literally everything on being 33% Irish. The stubbornness? The emotional rollercoaster? The inability to leave a party without saying goodbye seventeen times? Yeah, that’s where I get it from.

๐Ÿ€ “The Irish Goodbye” – Speaking of leaving parties… this one’s about the OPPOSITE. Slipping out without saying goodbye to anyone. Peak Irish move.

๐Ÿ€ “Irish in My Bones” – The real, honest song about what Irish heritage actually means to me. Not the stereotypes. The TRUTH.

This album is my love letter to:

  • My Irish father who gave me stories wrapped in green
  • The 33% of my DNA that connects me to Ireland
  • My son who almost shared this day
  • Everyone who understands that heritage is complicated and beautiful
  • Spring, renewal, transformation, and blooming where you’re planted

How I’m Celebrating

Today you’ll find me wearing green from head to toe (obviously). I’ll probably make some Irish-inspired food – or let’s be real, I’ll buy that Irish soda bread from Sprouts because that’s what we DO in my family. ๐Ÿ˜‚

I’ll raise a glass (or a cup of coffee, because “It Runs on Both Sides of the Family” and I’m breaking that pattern). And I’ll put on “Wearing Green” and dance in my kitchen.

Because that’s what March 17th is for: celebrating heritage, honoring where we come from, and choosing what we carry forward.

To My Fellow Irish (Even the 33%-ers!)

Whether you’re 100% Irish, 33% Irish, 0% Irish but love the celebration, or anywhere in between – today is YOUR day too.

Wear the green. Eat the food. Tell the stories. Celebrate the heritage.

And maybe, just maybe, stream some music by an Irish-American singer-songwriter who poured her whole heart into an album about spring, transformation, and the complicated beauty of carrying Ireland in your bones.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day, everyone!

Slรกinte! ๐Ÿ€

P.P.S. – Yes, my son was born March 18th, not March 17th. But I’m still claiming this holiday as partly ours. He was SO CLOSE. ๐Ÿ˜Š
