Releasing March 9, 2026
Irish fairy tales aren’t like Disney fairy tales. Irish fairies – the Sidhe, the Fair Folk, the Good People (we call them that because you DON’T want to offend them) – they’re powerful, unpredictable, and their gifts always come with conditions.
“The Fairy’s Gift” explores what happens when you receive something magical, something you desperately wanted… but it comes with a price you didn’t expect.
Irish Fairy Lore
In Irish folklore, fairies aren’t tiny Tinkerbells with wands. They’re ancient, powerful beings who live just slightly out of phase with our world. You might stumble into their realm by accident – through a fairy ring of mushrooms, under a hawthorn tree, or near certain hills on certain nights.
And if they offer you a gift? You better think carefully before accepting.
Fairy gifts are real. They work. But they come with rules:
- Don’t thank them directly (it’s considered rude)
- Don’t break the conditions of the gift
- Don’t tell others about the gift inappropriately
- Respect the fairies and their ways
Break the rules, and the gift disappears. Or worse – it turns on you.
The Story Behind This Song
I wrote “The Fairy’s Gift” thinking about all the times we’ve wanted something so badly that we didn’t stop to ask: what’s the real cost of this? What am I agreeing to?
It’s about those moments when opportunity knocks, and it looks PERFECT, but there’s something in the fine print you didn’t notice. It’s about blessings that come with conditions. It’s about getting exactly what you asked for and realizing too late what you gave up to get it.
The fairy gift isn’t a curse. But it’s not free either. And sometimes the cost is higher than you thought.
The Irish Wisdom
Irish folklore is full of stories about people who received fairy gifts and then had to navigate the consequences. The gift itself isn’t bad – but it requires wisdom, respect, and careful attention to use properly.
It’s a metaphor for life, really. Opportunities aren’t inherently good or bad. They’re powerful. And power requires responsibility.
What To Expect From This Single
“The Fairy’s Gift” has an ethereal, mysterious quality to it. Think atmospheric folk with a touch of darkness – not scary, but acknowledging that magic is serious business. There’s beauty here, but also caution.
Musically, I’m leaning into those haunting Irish melodies, maybe some harp or whistle, creating that sense of stepping into another world. It’s enchanting but with an edge of “be careful what you wish for.”
The Connection to “March Winds”
This folklore single connects to the theme of transformation throughout the album. Track 15, “Renewal,” is about becoming who you’re meant to be – and sometimes that requires accepting gifts (opportunities, challenges, changes) that come with conditions you didn’t expect.
The fairy gift teaches you that growth isn’t free. Transformation isn’t easy. And sometimes the magic you receive demands more of you than you thought you could give.
The Deeper Meaning
Here’s what I really want you to think about: What gifts have YOU received that came with unexpected conditions? What opportunities changed you in ways you didn’t anticipate? What blessings required more of you than you thought?
And here’s the real question: was it worth it?
Because sometimes the fairy gift is EXACTLY what you needed, even if the price was higher than you wanted to pay.
Stream “The Fairy’s Gift” on March 9th
This single drops March 9th, right between “Leprechaun’s Gold” and the big St. Patrick’s Day release of “The Day We’re All Irish.”
This is the mysterious one. The atmospheric one. The one that makes you think twice before accepting gifts from strangers… or fairies.

P.S. – If you DO encounter the Fair Folk, remember: be respectful, don’t accept anything without thinking it through, and for the love of all that’s holy, DON’T step into a fairy ring after sunset. I can’t stress this enough.
