Yes, I Wrote a Song About Charcuterie Boards

By Melanie Grace

I know what you’re thinking: “A song about charcuterie boards? Really?”

And my answer is: ABSOLUTELY.

Because “Thanksgiving Charcuterie” represents everything that’s changed about how we celebrate. It’s the intersection of tradition and trend. It’s fancy and approachable at the same time. It’s proof that we’re making this holiday our own.

This song is pure big band celebration energy. It’s fun, it’s over-the-top, it’s delicious (metaphorically speaking). I wanted it to feel indulgent and joyfulโ€”like the experience of standing around the counter with a glass of wine, assembling the perfect bite of cheese, salami, fig jam, and a fancy cracker you definitely overpaid for.

But it’s also about more than food. It’s about how traditions evolve. How we take what our parents and grandparents did and add our own twist. How a holiday meal can have both grandma’s green bean casserole AND the trendy appetizer you saw on Instagram.

There’s no judgment here. Just pure celebration of the fact that Thanksgiving in 2025 looks different than it did in 1985, and that’s okay. Better than okayโ€”it’s something worth singing about.

“Thanksgiving Charcuterie” is the album’s moment of pure, unfiltered joy. It doesn’t take itself too seriously. It just invites you to celebrate in whatever way feels good to you. Traditional turkey? Amazing. Ordered takeout? Perfect. Spent more time arranging the charcuterie board than cooking anything else? We see you, and we’re here for it.

So raise your glass (of wine, cider, or sparkling grape juiceโ€”no judgment). Put on your stretchy pants. And let’s celebrate this beautiful, evolving, delicious holiday.

Fancy cheese and all.

“Thanksgiving Charcuterie” is track 7 on My Thanksgiving, available November 21st.
