Easter Is a Declaration, Not Just a Date
Every year, Easter comes around and we pull out the lilies and the special music and the good clothes. We say “He is risen” and we mean it. But somewhere between the sunrise service and the Easter lunch, something quietly slips past us.
Easter is not just a moment in history. It is a declaration about you.
Before the stone was rolled away, before the empty tomb, before the first light of that resurrection morning, God had already made a choice. And that choice was you.
What Does It Mean to Be Chosen by Grace?
The word “chosen” shows up all through Scripture. In Ephesians 1:4, Paul writes that God chose us in Christ “before the foundation of the world.” Not because of anything we had done. Not because we had it together. Not because we earned it.
He chose us by grace.
Grace is not a reward. It is not something you qualify for by being good enough or faithful enough or consistent enough in your quiet time. Grace is what God extends when He looks at the full picture of who you are, including the parts you hide, and chooses you anyway.
Easter is the moment that grace became flesh and blood and sacrifice. The cross is not proof that you are worthless. It is proof that God considered you worth everything.
When You’ve Felt Unchosen
If you have ever felt left out, overlooked, passed over, or like everyone else received something you were somehow disqualified from, you are not alone.
Many of us carry a quiet belief that we are on the outside of something. That grace is for other people. That the kind of love Easter represents is real, but maybe not quite for us.
That is the lie Easter was designed to undo.
The resurrection is the Father’s answer to every voice that ever told you that you do not belong. The empty tomb says: I went all the way to death and back for you. That is how chosen you are.
A New Album Born From This Truth
This Easter season gave birth to something deeply personal for me. “Chosen by Grace” is my new album, releasing April 6, 2026, and every single song on it was written from inside this truth.
These are not polished religious sentiments. These are songs I wrote in the real moments of my life, when I needed to be reminded that God meets us where we are, that He finds the lost, that He lifts the hands that have fallen to our sides, that His nature does not change no matter what season we are walking through.
From the opening title track to the closing song “yesterday, today, forever,” this album is an invitation to let Easter land somewhere deeper than the calendar.

Ephesians 1:4-5 “For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will.”
1 Peter 2:9 “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”
Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Let Easter Be Personal This Year
This year, I want to invite you to let Easter be more than a church service. Let it be a moment where you receive, personally and specifically, the truth that you are not an afterthought. You are not the one who barely made the cut.
You are chosen. By name. By grace. On purpose.
