Spring Songs 2026: How Blooming Season Inspires New Music

The Neighborhood Is Doing Absolutely Everything Right Now

My neighborhood in Southern California is doing the absolute most right now and I am completely here for it. Everything is in full bloom. The kind of bloom that stops you mid-walk and makes you pull out your phone not to scroll but to photograph, because you cannot quite believe something this beautiful exists right outside your door without requiring a ticket. Pink things and white things and that particular yellow that shows up in spring as if it has been waiting all year for its single moment of full expression.

Spring songs 2026 have been accumulating in my notebooks for weeks, shaped by this exact season and everything it is visually and emotionally delivering. The longer days, the warmer evenings that now stay warm all the way through instead of turning cool after dark, the sense that something has been decided and the world has made up its mind about moving forward. All of this finds its way into the music whether I plan for it or not.

What Is the Connection Between Spring and New Music Releases?

Spring tends to push creative work toward completion in a way that winter does not. Things that were being carefully developed through the more interior, inward months of the year tend to find their shape in spring, as if the season is providing momentum that was not available before. The natural world’s forward energy is not just metaphorical for songwriters. It is felt in the actual physical experience of sitting down to write.

I have been writing more new material in recent weeks than I have shared publicly yet, and a lot of it has been directly shaped by this particular spring’s imagery, emotional temperature, and feeling of genuine openness after months of more interior, complex work. Some of these songs are going to be part of what comes later in 2026 and I am already excited about where they are heading.

    What’s Coming Up After Spring?

I am going to give you a real preview because you have been showing up here every day and you deserve one. After the spring material, summer is arriving with something I have been working toward for a while. On June 8th, I am releasing ‘Merica, my Americana album. It is the most patriotic, most American, most wide-open-landscape music I have ever made. It is built for summer. It is built for windows down and sky overhead and no particular deadline. More details are coming soon and I will be talking about it regularly as we get closer to June.

For now, enjoy the spring with full attention. Look at your neighborhood like it is actively giving you something. It is. It is giving you songs.

Introducing “Chosen by Grace” – My New Easter Album Is Here

Some albums take years to plan. Some arrive all at once, almost like they were waiting for the right season to step forward.

“Chosen by Grace” was that kind of album for me.

These ten songs came out of real life. Real prayer. Real moments of wondering if God was paying attention, and then being completely undone when I realized He never looked away.

The album released April 6, 2026, and if you have not heard it yet, I want to walk you through what is waiting for you.

A serene landscape with a figure walking down a stone path surrounded by olive trees, bathed in golden light from a rising sun, with the text 'Chosen By Grace' at the top and 'Melanie Grace' below.

What Is “Chosen by Grace” About?

At its core, this album is about identity. Not the kind of identity built on what you do or how well you perform, but the kind that was decided before you were born and confirmed at the cross.

Every song on this album circles back to one central truth: you were not an accident. You were not an afterthought. You were chosen by grace, and nothing about your story disqualifies you from that.

    The Full Track List

Here is every song on the album and a glimpse of what each one holds:

    1. Chosen by Grace – The title track. Where it all begins.
    2. Meeting Me Where I Am – For the days when you cannot come to God polished.
    3. I Feel Close When I Pray – About the intimacy that prayer opens up.
    4. Finding Me – The journey of discovering who you are in Christ.
    5. With My Hands Lifted High – A surrender anthem.
    6. Hosanna, King of Kings – Praise rooted in the Palm Sunday story.
    7. He Found Me – A personal salvation testimony in song form.
    8. You Chose Me – An intimate, direct response to God’s choosing love.
    9. Walk This Road – For the long stretches of the faith journey.
    10. yesterday, today, forever – Anchored in the unchanging nature of God.

Over the next several weeks, I will be sharing a full blog post for every single song, including the story behind it, the feelings woven into the lyrics, and the Scriptures that shaped it.

    Why I Made This Album

I have spent a lot of my life feeling like grace was real in general, but not always sure it was specifically real for me. I think a lot of people live there. We believe the theology but struggle to let it land personally.

These songs were my way of letting it land.

Writing music has always been how I process the deepest things. And these songs were written in the middle of life, not from a mountaintop. They are honest. They are sometimes searching. And I hope they feel like a hand extended to anyone who needs to be reminded that they are not outside of grace.

    Scripture That Anchors This Album

Isaiah 43:1 “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.”

John 15:16 “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit.”
