Short bio

60 words

Melanie Grace is a Southern California singer-songwriter and classically trained vocalist who spent a decade filling journals with unfinished songs before she had the means to record them. She set out to release an album every month of 2026, each built around a season or a holiday. Some months she released more than one. She writes every lyric and melody herself.

Long bio

200 words

Melanie Grace is a classically trained vocalist with extensive formal choral experience, specializing in first soprano roles. She sang in choirs as a kid, led worship for years, plays guitar and piano, and holds a minor in Biblical Studies that shapes her faith records and her stage musical Bring Us Home.

What she did not have for years was a studio, a producer, or the money for either. So the songs stayed in the journals. More than ten of them, filled over a decade at two in the morning and in the car and anywhere else a melody turned up.

That changed when she began producing her own music with AI tools. Her first albums arrived in late 2025. Then she set a considerably harder goal: an album every month of 2026, each one built around a season or a holiday, plus a blog post every single day. Some months the songs would not wait their turn and she released two.

Melanie is candid about her process in a way most artists are not, publishing openly about where the words come from and how the recordings are built. The songs are still hers: her stories, her experiences, her choices. The tools are just how they finally got out of the notebooks.

Story angles

If you are looking for a hook, here are the ones people ask about most.

  • An album a month, and sometimes two. What that pace actually takes, and what it costs.
  • Ten journals, one decade. Songs that never became anything, and what it felt like to finally finish them.
  • Radical transparency about AI. Melanie publishes her whole process rather than hiding it, and has thought hard about where the line sits between tool and author.
  • Songs for people nobody writes songs for. Quilters. Thanksgiving hosts. People too burnt out to answer the door.
  • Grief in the catalogue. “The Hug Collector” was written more than fifteen years ago about her father, who died of ALS.
